a way to work with our bodies; their habits, experience, pains, history and potential.
is changed by manual treatment. And by coming into a process of getting to know our perception and holding patterns. This changes how we move, stand, feel and relate in the world. t.
we can start to experience effortless posture, deep free breathing, a full range of movement and an opening to the ground and world around us that supports the natural growth of our human being. This carries on after our course of Rolfing is over. And can be topped up over our lives.
we work with care and in a holistic way. We know that our physical being cannot be separated from our other layers, and we often navigate changes with you on many levels; emotional, psychological, postural, in your work, relationships, movement and experience of self.
I am an Advanced Rolfing practitioner. Certified by the British Academy of Rolfing and Structural Integration, where training is accredited by the European Rolfing Association, Munich (ERA) and the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration, Boulder, Colorado (RISI).
I offer Rolfing in London, Norwich and Leeds.
I am also a meditator, a sister, a wife, a dancer. And someone who has been through the Rolfing process in recovery from some big impacts, surgeries, metal plate implants and complex post traumatic stress . Rolfing sessions meant that I recovered, and they helped me land, grow and thrive.
They also helped me in sitting more comfortably at a desk, being less anxious, being more easeful running and dancing and breathing easier breathing when I swim.
Each Rolfing practitioner approaches Rolfing from a perspective that reflects their own skills and values. I also hold a degree in Art History and Curatorship, a diploma in fine art, play the flute pretty badly, love to jog and work as a freelance dancer.
I give my clients space to explore and understand their patterns and gifts. Before, during and after treatment, I am available to discuss concerns, thoughts or hear how you are processing the work we’re doing.
I also know, from my own experience, that often we need a combination of things to heal. If I feel I have done all I can for you or that you’d benefit from other treatments, support or scans, I’m open with that. And things weave.
I look forward to meeting you
More about Rolfing
“Some individuals may perceive their losing fight with gravity as a sharp pain in their back, others as an unflattering contour of their body, others as constant fatigue, yet others as an unrelenting threatening environment. Those over 40 my call it old age. And yet all these signals may be pointing to a single problem so prominent in their own structure, that it has been ignored: they are off balance, they are at war with gravity”
Supporting and guiding someone through the Rolfing process requires much of the compassion and understanding more typically associated with therapy. Part of being a Rolfer is a commitment to openness and lack of judgement, I take this seriously and enjoy the privilege of working with those who come to me.
